Welcome

The Designmuseum's library is the Nordic region's largest in design and crafts. It is public and open (free) to everyone and is a museum library, research library and main subject library in the Danish library field.

The purpose of the library is to provide knowledge, information and documentation about crafts and design. The library will inspire the development of new design and be a source for research in design and art history.

The library and reading room is open:
Tuesday and Wednesday from 10am to 2pm
Thursday from 10am to 5pm

How to become a user

Use the menubutton above "Apply for membership" and enter the required information. Bring an identification card and contact the librarian upon your first visit to the library.

Who can loan?

You are eligible to loan from the library when you have a residency in Greater Copenhagen/Capital region. Others can order materials from the library via Bibliotek.dk to collect and return from their own public library in Denmark.

Loan period

1 month. If the loan period is exceeded, a fee will be charged. Extension of a loan is available through the site. A compensation claim will be raised in case of lost or damaged material. The size of the compensation claim will be determined by the library.
