    SE 2008 Fifty/Fifty.- "As reflections in the glass facades, one can still sense the industrial roots of "Islands Brygge", the Manhattan of Copenhagen. I wonder where all the workers have gone, or did they just change their boots? I look up at the glass-fronted flats and see the designer furniture and repetitive windows from the pages of life style magazines. This view is broken up by an occasional room full of boxes and utility items. Damn those transparent walls! The speed at which these flats are developing, I can't help wondering, how far have we really come from the reproduction furniture that would emulate high society, with a public facade of cherry wood veneer to hide a private wood chip soul? And what happened to the solid, functional, utilitarian furniture for hard-working, industrious people? The new workers need real furniture as nostalgic reminders of our long forgotten roots.     Stool and wagon at the same time - by turning it upside down - this classic toy idea has been known for several generations and has now been redesigned by Frederic Collette for children 1-5 years old. Collette's version has inclined angles to give stability and to enable the stools to be stacked. Turned around - the legs of the A-shaped stool become steering-handles. The stools are made of massive oak planks, to enjoy the wood grain in full width. Available in oiled massive oak: natural, smoked or white. Can also be used as a set with the desk Stoolesk RP15901. Stool has achieved the Nordic ECO-label Swan/Svanemærke, which ensures durability, safety, health and environmental sustainability. The massive oak wood comes from certified sustainable European forestry. The oil is natural oil without halogenated organic solvents. Rubber wheels and glue are without hazardous chemicals such as phthalates, formaldehyde and alkyl phenols.

The result of our 50/50 is a process, technique, community, network, gallery, an ever expanding catalogue of furniture from around the globe, made locally. GlobalMadeLocal is a global furniture collection that is made locally. It is a community of cabinetmakers (and designers) who share design knowledge to form a global furniture collection.
