In the late 60's and early 70's, David Lewis developed new furniture together with Gunnar Graversen. One idea spawned by this collaboration and the evening sessions where it took place, was the sack chair. Unfortunately, someone else got the same idea and promptly demonstrated it at the following Furniture Fair in Germany. Lewis and Graversen had to come up with something else. So, they went back and made Canobi: A modular seat with 2 units, a 86x86 cm corner/end and straight unit, and a 86x172 cm 2-seater sofa and chaise long unit, providing various combinations underlining the individual and personal configuration. Re-launched in 2001 by Erik Jørgensen.
